Honourable Artillery Company Golfing Society

President: Jonathan Ticehurst

Captain 2025: Michael Phillipps

Hon. Treasurer: John Ashworth

Hon. Secretary: Richard Stubbs

The Golfing Society was established in 1920, when the first recorded match was played by the Regiment against the Battalion at the HAC Camp in Cardiff. The HAC Golfers who formed the HAC Golfing Society were affiliated to the HAC Sports Club in 1922.

The Society’s first recorded external match was against a team from Littlehampton Golf Club, led by the Duke of Norfolk. This match has been contested annually since then. The Society has around 24 matches, 3 Society Meetings and a Captain’s Tour each year. The Society has a strong fixture list, playing against many of the best Golf Clubs in the South & East (Hunstanton, Royal West Norfolk, Littlehampton, Rye, New Zealand, Worplesdon, Aldeburgh, Royal Worlington & Newmarket and Royal St Georges - to name but a few). Matches are normally played as foursomes, both during the week and at weekends.

The Society has Spring, Summer and Guest Meetings to which all Members are most welcome. These meetings are an excellent opportunity for new Members to show their prowess to the Match Managers.

The Society draws its membership from Regimental & non-Regimental Members. Members of other HAC Sports Clubs with handicaps of 24 or under are also welcome to apply for Membership of the Golfing Society by contacting the Hon. Secretary at: honsec@hacgolfingsociety.com.
